I think my runner card would be cut up if I didn’t first acknowledge the heat and humidity of last week’s workouts. It was gross, swampy and excessive. But I’m not complaining. I may be struggling for air while a 9:30 pace feels like a sub 8, but I know that this is temporary. Running […]

Last week’s workouts had me feeling a little less blah about running. I think I was just in a funk. I’ve got another race on my schedule for early August and the possibility of two more in late August/September. As of right now, none are goal races but it gives me something to say I’m […]

Last week’s workouts were off. Off as in, not as how I had planned. But that’s life! So I rolled with the punches and did what I could with what I had. I didn’t freak out about it. It felt kind of nice to do something different. And it actually is probably a blessing in […]

I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately and last week’s workouts show it. My parents were visiting for 2 weeks. During a lot of that time, we played tourist a lot. I ate weird to me foods, my routine was messed up and everything was off. We had a great time but even […]

You’ve got 30 minutes to workout. What do you do? Do you: A) Bag the whole idea of a workout because what’s the point. B) Get your butt moving because a great workout is about to go down. C) None of the above. If you picked B., then congratulations! You are one smart cookie. There’s […]

Last week’s workouts had me feeling blah…still. I’m not sure why but I slipped into a running funk. No races sound exciting. No distances sound intriguing. I’m still running but I don’t have this burning desire to run hard or to push myself. Isn’t that odd considering I spent the majority of 2017 wishing I... mehr auf happyfitmama.com
Last week’s workouts had me feeling like I was headed in the right direction with my PF flare up. I cut back on mileage. kept the pace easy and made sure to not run back to back days. And to foam roll, ice and massage my calves/foot throughout the day. An added bonus was a […]

Last week’s workouts were week one of Mount Washington/Loon Mountain race training. As I mentioned last week, this was also the first week with my new coach. I decided to go with Ascend Endurance Coaching after multiple recommendations from friends and chatting with Chris. Body movin’, get your body movin’. This post is coming at-chya straight after taking a gluteus max-out fitness class at the gym with my FAV instructor, Nicole. Last week’s workouts were so fun. Lots of sleeping in thanks to the holiday week, running a Turkey Trot and hanging out with friends. If it’s not fun, why do it? Lol. Thanks Ben & Jerry’s for that nugget of wisdom. Monday 40 minutes Stepmill with 30 sec sprints and 90 sec recovery x 10 […]

It was another round of heat and humidity for last week’s workouts. I feel like I’ve talked more about the weather than anything else lately. Which made me start to wonder – Do you think runner’s talk more about food or the weather? I really think it might be a 50/50 tie. Maybe bathroom/digestive habits […]

My week in workouts were almost the complete opposite of last week. Last week – All but one of my runs were on the trails playing in the fresh snow with temps in the teens. This week – All of my runs were on the road (except Wednesday on the treadmill) either in the rain […]

Last week’s workouts didn’t involve a heat wave but I brought the heat with upping the intensity of my workouts. With my Achilles feeling SO much better, I’m gradually increasing the intensity to prepare for spring, summer and fall races. Last week opened up the lottery for the Mount Washington Road Race. I put my […]... mehr auf happyfitmama.com

My week in workouts consisted of the usual rundown of running, cross training, strength training and a ton of fun. It’s the Holiday season and I’m not actively training for anything so why not? Although I must say, I deeply believe in the Ben & Jerry motto of – If it’s not fun, why do […]

Lange gab es kein neues Workout hier, denn alle Energie floss in mein Jeden Tag Fit Programm! Last week’s workouts weren’t entirely what I planned but it showed me things are moving in the right direction in terms of my plantar fasciitis. Week two of this new reality seemed to go a little bit better. I had a plan, I ran for fun yet pushed myself and I walked SO much. The only thing that I didn’t do? I fell off the burpee challenge wagon. Well, not all the way off…I’m still hanging on. I simply forgot […]

I don’t know about you, but I was so happy to be back into the routine of things for last week’s workouts. I love the holidays but I’m so over it. My kids do best with routine and structure and as much as I like to be a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type of gal, I do too. […]

If you are a runner, you know you should be strength training. Now be honest, do you actually strength train consistently? I know how easy it is to forget about strength training. Believe me, I get it. We are runners, we want to run ALL the miles. It’s very true that you need to run […]

Six weeks out from Mount Washington Road Race has me feeling sore yet seeing progress. Last week’s workouts had me running farther and gathering more vert. It appears we are sticking with the roller coaster theme for last week’s workouts. When you start the week off with shorts and 60 degrees to single digits and winds bowling you over by the end, you don’t know what’s coming up around the bend. A runner’s legs get all the attention. Rightly so. We need to strengthen our quads, fire up the glutes, stretch out the ever tight hamstrings and of course, keep our calves strong and loose. Just because the lower body gets all the attention, doesn’t mean your upper body doesn’t need any love. It’s not just […]
